The 2-1-1 Call Center offers easy access to quality, personalized and confidential assistance. Trained Call Specialists will help callers identify their needs and consider what resources are available.

Does it cost anything to call 2-1-1?
Thanks to the support of generous community partners, the 2-1-1 Maine Call Center is a service that is free on landline connections throughout Maine. However, calls placed from cellular phones may be subject to normal fees and taxes for usage and charges by pay phone systems may vary.

Do Call Specialists receive special training?
Each Call Specialist must complete a classroom-type training to learn 2-1-1 protocols and become familiar with important aspects of the directory and social services. Team Leaders also oversee on-the-job experience before a new Call Specialist independently answers calls.

What are the Call Center hours of operation?
2-1-1 Maine Call Specialists are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. 2-1-1 Maine is operational 365 days a year.
